New Resources

Following the five days of meetings at the UN Headquarters in New York for BMS6, IANSA has published a report on all country positions related to the following topics: Ammunition, Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) & Programme of Action (PoA), Civil Society, Destruction, Gender & Women, Youth, and Victoms & Survivors.

IANSA welcomes our new UN Liaison Officer, Rose Welsch. She takes over from Michele Poliacof, whom we thank for her years of dedicated service, and for agreeing to continue sharing her wisdom and advice with us. Rose will be responsible for coordinating civil society participation in the Sixth Biennial Meeting of States on Small Arms (BMS6), to be held at UN Headquarters in New York 6-10 June 2016.

IANSA member, Indian Institute for Peace, Disarmament & Environmental Protection, with the support and guidance from Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms & Light Weapons arranged a seminar on "Illegal Trade of Small Arms: Effects on Society - Role of Parliamentarians" on 9th April 2014 in Hyderabad, South India.

This is important information for NGOs on the second Open-ended Meeting of Governmental Experts of the Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat, and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons and All Its Aspects.
